There are LOTS of cichlid species. Not all are agressive

THEY HAVE ANGER ISSUES, THEY HATE ON EVERYONE, AND MOST OF THEM HAVE FROWNY FACES.

I could ditch my tin foil barbs, and tiger barbs, and then add about 20 more tetras...Then plant it?
How would the pictus do with plants?

there nice fish (usually), although I've heard they can be aggresive to other severums, but thats about it.

I almost bought a severum a while back...Still, I would prefer to stay on the peaceful side of things.

with severums if your trying to avoid aggression problems you'll want to avoid male female pairs and having two males together. My two females get along just fine.

get a large school of some sort of tetra or danio. you could fit a lot of little fish in a 125. if i got away from big fish then i would get a hoard of celestial pearl danios...they would probably be too small for your pictus, but something like that would be cool.http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/barbs/celestialpearldanio.php

If you're looking for just peaceful fishes, just get a school of neon tetras. Look great in a planted tank imo.
