P.S. I am working on developing a new strain of fish that eats algae, fish poo, dead fish and filters the water and pees dechlorinator and water clarifiers. It grows 3 feet long and can live it's entire life in a ten gallon. Anyone wanting to invest in this project can send me money.

I'm a noob but yea i was on MFK B4 i had my tank asking Q's and finding what i was going to need. i dont see how ppl can be so dumb about this stuff if u dont know get online ask jeevs for crying out loud. lol its not hard to find ppl that know what there talking about

Today, I had a trio come in, asked where the oscars were with one foot still outside. I showed them. Later learned the tank was a 29, and I heard every excuse in the book. "It will grow to the size of the tank, right?" He tried it all, I finally got him to settle on a lone Salvini, which still isn't the greatest situation. But at least he doesn't have a fish that will be touching both sides of the tank. His reason for wanting an oscar was that he wanted a fish that he could feed minnows.

:wall:

I figure that if I sell these fish I shouldbe able to make a million dollars in the first week or so. It won't be long before I can afford my 100,000 gallon monster fish tank. It will be super cheap and easy to run too because I will stock it with my Super wonder royal imperial electric blue flame long-fin cleaner fish (of Doom).

Darky: I'm sure we could arange some sort of payment plan.Just give me all your bank account info.... ;)

Bicher_first: I'll put you on the waiting list.

In response to your other comment though, I think that people do ask questions at fish stores to try to get more information. After all, who better to get information from than the fish store staff that spend the whole day working with fish, right? The problem is that most fish store staff, especially at the chain stores, are high school age teenagers who are either sadly misinformed, inexperienced, or just making stuff up because they really don't care about their minimum wage jobs. It is hard to find good staff for fish stores because they often don't pay very well so the employees are often working there temporarily. This tends to discourage experienced, knowledgable staff from working there, especially long term. Again kudos to those out there that actually care about the fish and the customers and work to educate average aquarists patiently and not condescendingly.

Schmidty yea most of the staff have lil or no real idea about whats going on but an individual should do a lil research before ever branching out in to a new hobby am i wrong. do most ppl just dive in head first or what

I agree that people should do more research before they get into it. The problem is they don't. They come into the store knowing nothing and expect us to provide them with the answers. That's why we get questions like "How many Nemo's can I keep in a goldfish bowl?" (I've been asked that more than once) I personally enjoy educating people so I don't mind spending extra time helping inexperienced people. It's a lot easier when people are ready and willing to learn and listen. Those people make the job worthwhile. It gets a lot more frustrating when a person asks you a question and then argues with your answer because they don't like what you have to say, especially if the solution involves more work or spent money on their part. (90% of the time the answer is more water changes.)
