Consumer education, in my opinion, is a good thing, even if a few bad businesses stop selling to some customers (or customers decide not to order from the company). I may have only lost $100, but many people can lose a lot more in the future. But this is not to say TFD is a 'bad business,' there are many great things about the company that have already been discusses. I just want to let people know what they are getting into.

I think that is was in poor taste to start a thread about the subject before you and TFD had resolved it between yourselves. Starting a conversation here about it will have no positive results and it seems it has ended in a situation where the vendor no longer looks to do business with you. It didnt have to be that way.

I hope that something good does come out of this thread; I think a sticky on airport-airport shipping being put up is a great idea and would be an awesome asset if the vendors/mods could collaborate and make it happen.

Again, not to beat the horse too much, I interpreted our disagreement to have come to a standstill in the email correspondence I posted on page 1. Telling me to "grow up and take responsibility" doesn't exactly sound like, to me at least, they're willing to compromise. It is not like I started this thread when the problem first occured and TFD had not a chance to make it right yet. I agree that would have been in poor taste. But when two sides can't agree between themselves, arbitration is usually the next step.

I very much agree a faq or something to that effect about the different types of mail ordering fish would be a good contribution to the site.
 
I am with the Administrators now on this topic. You guys are beating a dead horse. This thread started out as a poll on who we think is at fault. Let the poll do what it was intended to do. Looks to me like it is speaking pretty loud right now. Bottom line is it dosen't matter what any of us think. The vendor / customer is going to do what they want regardless. Notice the vendor has replied only once. You say they were very unprofessional and all you are doing is plugging their company by keeping this thread alive. JMO

Quite right, this topic does not have much life left in it, as it stands. I do believe we still need to hear Joe's side of the story, and this is the only reason why I have asked for this thread to remain open. So far, we haven't heard from him, and I would really implore him to answer so people can make their final decision, and we can all move on.
 
After the post by TFD, and going on the facts from both sides. I will retract my vote.

If you were givin the airbill #. You should have called to check on the shipment.

I know when I ordered 2 black aros from an online dealer, I called so much the airline personnel knew me by my first name by the time I picked up the box.

Again, I was never given the airbill number until I called to ask what was going on Friday.
 
as i see it TFD didnt give us any facts, just what they normally do, which was contradicted by aranos, who is the only one telling his side, we must still wait to see what joe has to say on behalf of his company and his employees before anyone konws if aranos is being honest (which at this point none of us has reason to believe otherwise).

i deplore the scare tactic used by TFD that it would refuse to sell to the little guy, as i see many other online sites that can offer comparable species at comparable, sometimes slightly higher prices. i understand their position, i just wish we could get a definite response. i am hopeful that TFD is tracking down the employee to find out what happened. then this can be put to rest.
