I offically hate datnoids!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sounds like noid rage not roid rage lol I have no experience with these but maybe some day. I would also like to see some pics of the bamboo/driftwood idea sounds really cool.

This is why Datnoids are not an easy fish to raise. Datnoids require lots of devotion, attention, and above all patience. Think about what attracted dats to you. Did you just stuble across one and had to have one or did you see others with them and find them fascinating? Try to remember why you fell in love with dats in the first place. All fish will give you some sort of "trouble" sooner or later. Its normal. I've seen way too many people jump on the dat wagon and fall off immeadiately as soon as it hit a hard part. Dont give up so soon. Try to change the tank set up. Or add more dats or diff tankmates. This is the fun part. You have the ability to change your tank and its inhabitants however you please!!!

Sorry Off Topic

Datnoid101 >> Speaking about the Dat band Wagon, I think there may be some truth in it. 90% of Dats i have seen at the LFS are usually unstable and really unattractive with a heavy price tag. I was lucky enough to see a stable Dat in its fully glory.

jest throw a 20 inch Asian aro in there to keep em all in check

Not possible, my tank is 18" wide, so a 20" arowana wouldn't be able to turn

:(

My NGT group was pretty bad until I placed stands of dried and epoxy-sealed bamboo in the tank. The pads (sand colored floor tiles) had 6-10 bamboo poles of different diameters. Once I had pads equal to the number of NGTs, fights cut down to nearly zero. Each dat claimed a pad of bamboo and ignored the others unless they came too close to one's claimed pad.

Do you have pics of said bamboo pads? Sounds like something i'd like to do in my tank.
