I bought this "Viper female" from an Asian Gentleman in south jersey who spoke maybe 30 words of english. He had communication with Chonburiman Suriyum and ordered a female. I honestly believe that the Thailand breeders would send a nice female to one of there "fellow countrymen" here in the US. My male is F1 from a Red Dragon female and King Kamfa male. This whole project is, in many ways, a big experiment with several unknown factors. Either way its all part of the journey and I am excited to be a part of it.

Unfortunately my friend, Chonburiman is one of the shadiest sellers out there. I won't even call him a breeder like some. That would be giving too much respect to a scumbag. He's a middleman and nothing more. Uses red light like no other. For your sake let's hope he thought it was a male that turned out to be female. And after all that, let's hope she lays eggs. If she does, I wouldn't hesitate to tell you she is probably the nicest female kamfa stateside. Good luck with your project bro 👍

These two just swim together now still separated by the divider. They are not showing any more aggression towards each other. Just keeping everyone updated and keeping my fingers crossed.

In any case, if "she" is a he after all, it's still a nice fish and you can breed back to another fish in the end. Both are nice fish, but I would have expected a bit of tube drop to happen by now, but, you said she was new, so maybe she's adjusting still.

"She" has been in the tank for only 12 days. The fact that this "Viper female" is always digging pits and twitching while hovering over the slab of slate I have on her side of the tank I thought was a very good sign. "She" has not acted stressed at all and is eating like a pig, and is getting a very dark coat to her color, which I also though was a good sign of a future spawn. My buddy Brian, who many of you might know, has owned one of the largest and most diverse collections of Thailand Flower horns over the last several years here in NJ. He has breed more strains of FH then many of us could ever even dream of. He informed me that he has had females that would drop their tube every 2 weeks and lay eggs with out even being in the presence of a male. Then in other cases he would have females that were much more "reserved about breeding" and it would take them a few months before they would drop their egg tube in the presence of a male. When I vented this Viper it appeared to be a female, but with flower horns it can be just tough to tell for sure. I know that the kok of this fish is screaming "I'm a male" but keep in mind there are many high quality females out there that develop very pronounced koks. Thats what I'm praying is the case with this Viper. If it turns out to be a male I might try to find a female to breed to him or I might just sell him. I love my Red King Kamfa and he is the one I would like to ultimately end up breeding. I do appreciate everyones support and insight. We are just going to see what happens next.
