I had a death in my tank last week randomly and I have had another one this morning. I dont know what is going on but some of my fish are staying near the surface of the water. 1 is sitting on the bottom of the tank. Some are breathing hard and flickering there fins. My water parameters are nitrate 0 nitrite 1 ammonia 0 ph 7-7.5. I dont know what to do at this point but multiple fish are affected and I'm greatly concerned. Looks like someone is shedding there slime coat. I need suggestions ASAP!

Your paramtres show that your tank is not cycled.

What is the Ph? Your fish seem to be nitite poisoned.

Do a water change ( 50 % ) and aerate. Your fish are oxygen starved.

Not enough filtration. You have to break the surface to add more oxygen to the tank. If the top of your water level is to calm then you are not getting enough oxygen in the water. They are suffocating.

Good advice Miguel, an immediate water change and increased airation is key here.

You could also add add 1 tblspoon of aquarium salt for every 10 gallons of water to help make breathing eaiser. Continue with 25% water changes every other day for the next two weeks. Get some Seachem Stability (bacteria booster) or similar produce to use along with your declor at water changes.

Tank is fully cycled been up for a year. I think I have a parasite. Multiple fish pooping white and 1 looks like it has a worm anchored on him. I did a water change anyway. 40-50% at least. Aeration is fully pumping on an 100 and 40 whisper air pump

Treat for the parasites with some API General Cure, Prazi-pro or Tetra Parasite guard shohld do the job.

I put in copper safe. It's good for ich, velvet and different types of worms. I'm also medicating there food with epsom salt. Also ridding the idea of giving them an epsom salt bath.

Aerate strongly, as well

Add a powerhead.
