I Saved a Poly!!!

If only there was a law that says a higher end chain store can't establish a building within an amount of area of an already established non-chain store. But now one cares enough to do that. But only if....

I saved a satanoperca cichlid yesterday from an LFS that was closing they had a bichir but he had no eyes a deformed fin and deathly skinny let alone no room for it as it was only about 1"

Yeah when and if my LFS closes i'm going to try and buy some of his tanks. He has these cool built in tank to a huge stand. He has like 6 5 gallons and 1 20-29 gallon on 1 rack. It is beast. Anyways i'm going to try and buy it for breeding fish/ quarantine/ hospital/recovery. Lots of things they are pretty cool i think petco has them to but not as cool.

In Hong Kong its not the chain stores, but greedy landlords raising rent by as much as 100% or more at times because they want to kick out the tenant to make room for restaurants etc who pay more...

Even the few shops i know on fish street have had their rent raised by no less than 30% - 50% in the last year alone its crazy... Although i've also seen some shops dodge the bullet by moving upstairs or to smaller spaces...

Well i got a 10 gallon today i just got finished putting the sand and everything else in there. it should be ready for him tomorrow. (i changed the water from my 75/ got all the nice juicy bacteria lol) i put a pleco in there (he was sucking on my polys so i volunteered him) and we will see if it is poly safe in the morning :) i was also wondering what might his growth rate be? i am feeding him varied diets of bloodworms, brine shrimp, and beefheart. sometimes i throw some small pieces of krill in there. I change the water (25-35%) 2 times a weeks sometimes 1-2 more times. I and moving him from a planted 20 to a planted 10 (with sand). And for any more help i have a 75 ( which i hope will some day he will enter) that has 2 parrot cichlids (they nudge my polys if they are in the way but don't bite or anything surprisingly) and i have 1 red-tail shark who is awesome and doesn't mess with anyone under any circumstances. and 2 other polys an ornate 6 inches a buettikoferi 4-4.5 inches and another senegalus 4.5-5 inches. I have seen many different growth timelines, but i was wondering if some one could refer me to another thread or help me with this situation (no rush just wondering). Thanks in advance Dr.B :)

What is it u want to know... The growth rate of your new sen?

I was asking that and telling you how i cared for him (feeding schedule, water changes, all that stuff) and asking maybe when a time frame of when he would be able to go to my 75 with a 6" ornate 4.5" buettikoferi, and 5" senegalus. from my observations he has grown about a half in since i got him (about a week).

The thing with sens is u neva know.... ive had two sens... both turned out to be genetically defective... one after staying at 2.5" for 8 months died off... the other sen also has been a slow grower... now at 6-7"... i dont know what do u call this... they get bowl stomach...

If ur sen is showing signs of growth then u r on the good side of it... it should take a month if the feeding is varied... also whats the personality of ur ornate... my 8"(then) ornate neva bothered with the lil sen i had... Im not an expert just sharing my experience with only two sens ive kept.... experts may fill in on this...
