Thanks again guys. I'm pretty happy about doing this. Any recommendations on what I should be feeding these big guys? I've fed them pellets once, a piece of celery, and a few mysis shrimp. Any other options I should try?
glad to see you rescued these guys.
mine eat blood worms, krill, peas, and just about anything that drops in the tank lol

Good save. They look really nice for the condition they were in.

They are omnivores. Just keep it varied. Pellets with maybe some meatiers foods like raw shrimp cause it's cheap and celery, peas, and algea wafers are good for the oscars and the pleco. Try to stray away from things that mess up the tank, cause with them in it your going to be doing WC's enough already.

nice looking oscars, good deal lol. never heard people who live in this country with bare feet.

they are beautiful oscars-im surprised that for the abuse they were subjected to they look so good. great save!! if i were you, when youre ready to sell the tanks-check out craigslist and try to get a used 125- you should be able to get one pretty cheap..

best of luck to you and the new O's!

Thanks again everyone! My space is somewhat limited, so I can't go too huge. If anything, I'd like a 90 gallon corner tank so I don't lose too much space.

Update:
The fish are much more lively and active now. They were actually letting me hand feed them today. I gave them a couple algae eater pellets and then gave them a strawberry each for a treat. The pleco is starting to regain his color and is much more active. I'm thinking of doing a WC in a few days just to keep the tank nice and clean. They've pooped a ton! All the other fish are interacting very well. My Firemouth likes to chase the Texas every now and then but there has been no nipping or ramming. I'm keeping a close watch on him just in case. It's awesome to see that all of my oscars hang together. The large ones took up to my Albino red like it was their own fry. They keep him between themselves and make sure noone gets him. More updates and pics coming soon!

Just read the whole thread and I have to say you have done an amazing job!
The Oscars look great, and its great to hear that they just keep doing better.

If you get the chance to get that 90g you want they'll do fine living in there :)

Congrats on your new oscars! They look so healthy after being put through such horrible treatment. You did an amazing thing rescueing them. It sickens me when people treat their fish cruelly. Someone offered me their oscar the other day and when I said I didn't have room for him he said "whatever, I'll probably just dump him in a lake!". I couldn't believe anyone would be so irresponsible. It makes me feel better after not saving that Oscar, to read about the pair that you saved. Best of luck with them!
