I picked up an earthworm just the other day that had got lost on the asphalt road and put it back in the grass. And I watch where I step. Believe it or not I avoid stepping on anything that moves. Do you have a problem with that?

What do you do with the ants that invade your kitchen and get into your food? What about the roach running around in your bathroom?

R.D. All the options you describe are action. It is just that one needs to make a judgement call which action to take in order to achieve the better outcome. And I agree that perhaps there may have been a different way to act, but there may have been a different outcome as well. Thinking that an alternative action would lead to the same welfare of the fish is a speculation at this point. What we know now is that the fish is safe.

I don't have any of them. It is just the way where I live, so not finding an excuse but I have spiders. I take them out. I don't kill them.

This didn't happen, did it? But I am sure there are many willing here that it did happen so they make their point. There is always a snitch like that around to ruin one's life. Then again, that was her decision to make and her risk to take.

Many of the members on this thread including you that are supporting stealing of the fish were on the other thread advocating for education. Yet we have an example where education could have been applied and it was not....smh

I'll get to the point.

When there is a natural disaster or a flood, we drown all the same, humans and animals. If something happens to the planet, we are all going to be affected, humans and animals.

So the illusion of having more rights than an animal is one's own. When we exploit animals and even plants, it backfires on ourselves.

And yes, I advocate for education too but we disagree on the type of education needed. Anthropocentrism hasn't work well so far .
