So I take it you don't swat flies, mosquitoes, & squash roaches?
Oh no, I absolutely do! Never claimed to be holier than thou. I will take a life if it protects or benefits me. Many bugs and mammals causes diseases, so I will eradicate them as needed. I will also take a creature's life when I hunt, because I enjoy hunting and because it is a survival skill I prefer to keep honed. However, I eat all my kills and not just leave them to rot. In other words, I don't kill senselessly.

Would you feel so strongly if that were a case of stealing an empty notebook? Why is it that people are feeling so fired up about the ownership of a living creature and protect their rights to own them more than the rights of the living creature? The slave master genes?

What kind of nonsense are you talking about?

Do I really need to explain basic common courtesy or edicate to you ( rhetorical)?...and yes you don't steal empty notebooks, pens or intrude in someone's work space without talking to them (duh).

I'm far from fired up. It just baffles me so many people are so willing to just steal to avoid I guess what is fear of talking to someone. She sat on her hands for weeks before deciding to steal don't forget.

I would of just said I love the color of your betta would you be interested in selling it to me and offered more than I know they paid....please don't let my sensible suggestion affect your crusade of theft and invasion of people personal areas though lol

Pretending to be the owner:....

"Nope. He's just fine" and he grabs said fish by the tail and smashes it with his phone...

Case over. Fish have no rights.

Have you thought that it is not fear driven? One can talk all they want and get nowhere. The problem is we people do not think on the same wavelength, for good or for bad.

The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.

This is just dumb lol....I hope someone steals your lunch because they feel 3 hrs is too long for it to be in the fridge

Way to totally misinterpret a quote. I think your focused on the word "action".

I really can't believe I'm having to explain this to someone.

So instead of talking, one takes action and one night brings the fish a new home, one more size appropriate, and leaves an anonymous note (or not anon?) offering to change the water, and feed it, and leaves some educational literature behind. That could have been done within the first few weeks of watching this horrific animal cruelty unfold, instead of waiting months, and then resorting to stealing it.

I have a co-worker (same lab but he works day shift) who bought this betta for his desk about 5 months ago. He kept it in the cup he bought it in. Barely fed it and never changed the water. I got sick of watching it waste away six weeks ago so I stole it and replaced it with a fake plastic betta that honestly doesnt even look nearly the same. Its been six weeks and the co-worker still hasn't noticed. The cup is burried under a stack of papers on his desk...

He can feel its wrong if he wants to. I honestly dont care and its perfectly fine for him to express that. Stealing IS wrong. But as I've said, I'm not sorry for this. If it were an object then no way would I take it. But its not an object. If my neighbor starves his dog, the city is going to take it from him. A fish isn't different to me.
Took a litter of puppies once because I caught the owner throwing them at a truck.

There comes a time when "ownership" becomes null and void.

There are some who would rather be legally correct but morally bankrupt.
I am not one of them.
