i suck at math..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
which is why he said milk should cut out pieces of paper that are the size of the dimensions he gave and see if he can lay them out on the 2 acrylic sheets milk has. :D

Actually you missed the point. He's asking what's the largest tank he can make out of the 2 pieces he has left. He's not trying to make one that is 70gals. out of those pieces. Go back and read the posts and try and understand them this time.
And (unlike you) I'm not trying to impress anyone, just trying to answer his question, which you failed to accomplish.

I have asked him twice to post his access dimensions which he has yet to do. Until then any dimensions are pointless, including yours. The question is will they fit. If you had paid attention to my post, you would have realized that. I am not trying to find dimensions that he can fit in there and I am not trying to solve the two sheet problem. I solved the max gallonage to surface area problem. I made that clear in my first post. I gave him the tools to find out if he can make the best of what he has.

Hey Chompers, I did understand your post entirely, my point was that it didn't answer his question. Yes it would be nice if we knew the access dimensions, but for all we know, it's not going in the stand, it could sit next to it or whatever.
As far as my post, I gave him an answer to his question as I saw it.
Lets both :chillpill:

Sorry guys, i was watching a football game all day.

I can do the first guys dimensions no problem, and i think i'll just do that. it will turn out to be like 30 gallons or so. But chomper hands down that is nice lmao.

kudous on the math but i would of just guessed and checked...

The openings in the front? not sure but the whole entire back of the stand is open Im guessing the back of the stand is probably 18" high (the opening)

Yea, i planned on just going behind the tank and putting it in rather than putting it in through the front cabinet doors. The cabinet doors are around 12" and the back of the tank is about 18-20"

agreed...but first say "da math is strong wid Chompahs" :D

I don't hold a grudge...usually. :banhim: I have written several things that I later wished I could reword or approach differently. I have also written things when I was in the wrong mind and later regretted it. It happens to everyone every now and then.

In any design application, it is important to know if what you are trying to do is doable. But that was not my goal as much as the trivia behind it. I found it interesting enough to crunch the numbers and I am willing to share. I am also absolutely amazed at the person who had the intuition "that about forty gallons" was the maximum size.
