I think I found someone selling a stolen bike on craigslist... What should I do?

Yes...mind your own business. I'm sure if the bike is worth a couple thousand dollars (and is stolen) the original owner of the bike is watching Craig's List.

Also...this sort of "too good to be true deal" is the latest way scammers on CL are "farming" for e-mail address's...especially if they specified a specific e-mail address to respond to.

Lastely. If you're wrong...you're going to look pretty stupid!:(

This is also the sort of thing you get "butt-raped" for in prison! Just mind your own business. No one elected you the "Lone Ranger"!;)

THE IDIOTS THAT are "butt raping" people in prison are hardly a group worthy of trying to impress .. they got there by not being able to cope with society anyway... and as far as "looking stupid" that's a wasted care also...

OP is not the victim in this crime... Find the victim, who can ID their property, then have them call the police. Police will not act unless they have a victim

It's possible the police already have a victim but not a suspect or the property. It's not unlikely that they will do nothing but there's no reason not to report it.

Even if the OP doesn't report it, I would suggest the OP post the ad in a few major bike forums. If it's stolen, maybe the owner will see it or somebody who knows the owner will see it.
