I think I want a snake....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Exactly. Its just way cheaper. I meen, if I'm breeding boas, and selling the babies after theyre first shed, then I wont have them for very long... That is if people buy them quickly. But its still waaaaaay cheaper then breeding. Plus, I hate rabbits, and rats, and mice. Rats/mice/rabbits stink horribly. I've always hated rabbits since I was little, I was petting one and it just flipped out and attacked my hand. Plus, when I worked at the Humane society, everytime I cleaned the rabbits, I would get some really nice scratches on my arms, it was way awesome.

Most boa constrictors won't be able to take on a newborn rabbit for about two years. :screwy:

what newborn rabbits have you seen? from what I have seen personally (from my own) the babies are tiny, not much bigger than rat pups, maybe in the US you have larger rabbits or something who knows :S but thanks for correcting me if i am wrong. if it is cheaper then of course why bother breeding, saves hassle :)

Maybe knowing the breed of rabbit would help?

We use the giant meat rabbits over here. The pet kinds don't produce big litters.

Was that aimed at me? Sorry but I didn't and *weren't* to know the us had different rabbits from here.. easy mistake to make but at least we both can see where the other is coming from then :)

I don't want a snake for "just" the reaction i'd get... but I do like the fact that they get a reaction out of people... that makes me like them more

My friends got a baby ball, and it's not in such good shape i wanna see if I can't "snake" it from him... and nurse him back to health :)

I'm ganna start getting supplies around and go shopping for a tank her ein the next couple weeks.

It's good that you don't. At least your getting the setup and that ready BEFORE buying anything :)

This is why I hate naming certain stages. To give you an idea, the most commonly accepted "rat pup" is about 20-30 grams. I think a rabbit newborn is about 50-60 grams.

CONGRATS on your Ball Python though AFK. :D I hope you will get it.

Haha, I just thought of something kinda cool too... I'm a web developer so sometimes crazy ideas go through my mind for websites... this one would deal with putting a web cam in the tank, and displaying it for every one to see :P

Could even make a community site out of this...

Jessica, I like to plan things out before digging in. :)

I'll be updating you guys on the snake later today. I'm going out to the house in a little bit.

I looked at it a little yesterday and it has some serious mite problems... and there is something wrong with one of it's eyes...

I red a care guide a few days ago and it said to find a licensed vet incase there are any problems that come up, should I go and find one, and talk to him about it, then take the snake there to him?

I guess I better start looking for a couple clients so I can get some money to take care of this baby :P
*anybody need a website?? :) *

You bought a snake with mites? Sorry I havent read the whole thread maybe I missed something....
