thats what sucks about keeping live fish is that they die. sometimes we know what its from other times we cant figure it out. it really sucks you lost all of your rays and im sorry for your loss. it feels like you just want to give up but after you enjoy the rest of your fish and give it some time im sure you will jump back in with some rays. the same type of stuff happend to me i wish i still had the ones i lost but this time im doing everything right and am happy with what i have. so hang in there it all works out in the end.

dude that sux...i have had many rays die along the many yrs of my hobby also some for stupid reason and some for no reason at all and some my reasoning. lol but in the end you just keep pushing forward and keep fishkeeping. or do what i did and downsize to 1 show tank and 10 betta tanks (my kids). lol

what were they eating the night before?

that sucks!
i know your feeling, i almost retire when one of my ray die and i realise one day after, so the water become bad and all my rays on that tank die.. i loss 3 motoros and 1 antenna ray. one of the motoro is pregnant, so there is 4 stillborn pups and one of them is batman ray... i always want a batman ray!

but now im back in business, more rays, and learn something from that day... i hope you will back soon too!

Man that is awful, I thought for sure I was going to lose my Freddy last month. I was ready to sell everything, he was the reason I got into fish again. I can totally see where you are coming from.

Suck to hear man. Don't let it get you down. The best time come when your fighting back up the hill.

Sorry to hear. Sounds almost like something strange was going on and when you moved one from one tank to the other it the problem transported. Water testing is good but it only gives a snap shot to what the water looks like at that exact moment. It does not show the fluctuation in between tests. Could of been ammonia spikes over a period of time or even some kind of strange bacteria. What happened to your male was a touch on the weird side. I still do not think the rotted disk edge was caused by another fish or ray. Take a break, bleach the tank out, recycle, and give it another whirl down the road. You will be glad you did.

I'd have to agree with the opion of taking a break before comming back to the hobby... it'll give you some time to sort things out, sorry for the loss...
I'm also in the process, poor armatus...

I lost around £700 (excess of 1k$'s ) of stock in one night after a water change (dodgy water supply, have hma filter now :) ) i felt sick the next morning and was really close to throwing in the towel as my tank was pretty bare and some of my good fish were in the bin. I sulked for a week but am starting to get back into the swing of things now. Just give it time, work out went wrong and make sure itdoesnt happen again:)
