Yesterday I saw a 20"+ Dovii in person for the first time. Let me tell you he was spectacular. He was only 6-7" longer than mine but at least twice as thick too. I was trying to imagine him fitting into my tank. After much thought, I know for sure I won't be able to house mine when he gets that big. Mine is already trying to break the glass and lids at his present size with his super aggression. I think it was chc who said that's a sign of him being in too small a tank. Selling him will also make my wife happy. She's a housewife and stays home most of the time. She nags me that he's constantly banging the glass so hard and has been trying to get me to trade him out. I guess I'm going back to a community setup.

So....anyone want a super bad Dovii?

My biggest tank is 265g. He's really been more aggessive and banging himself onto the glass lately. And I have to put river rocks on the lids or he'll crash right thru them. Maybe a not as aggressive big male Jag will satisfy my Parachromis cravings.

So you're pretty close by. You want him or know anyone who does?

You have one of the best ones I've seen either in pictures or in person. It's a shame that he is turning more into a glass banger after you've had him this long. Have you maybe tried giving him a valium mixed in with his food? Or mabye some ritalin????


I would take him off your hands, but I don't have a tank big enough to house him, and the last time I got a couple of specimens off of you, they were floating on the bottom....So, I'll pass and maybe someone else would give him a better home

I wish I could take him but I just don't have a place for him. I do think its pretty fun that your Dovii scares your wife though lol

I know the feeling! My big male absolutely FREAKS ME OUT! I couldn't make a louder sound than him banging the tank if I hit it with a bat. Even feeding him has become a little scary. I'm glad he's in an acrylic tank.

That's one gorgeous fish you have. If you can't find anyone to take your fish off your hands, I know more than one skilled aquarist who would take good care of him. Shipping?

That sucks balton, thats a beauty of a dovii. Its a F1 from rapps right? Post up that video i watched on youtube. Thats how I found out about MFK.
