If it exists, then it exists at home. Somebody will have done it. I have seen some amazing things on the internet that people did at home. I am too new here to remember who has the basement filled with water. I know its in canada and I think his name has arapaima in it.
 
thats why i like just having my gf live with me i can clean my fish tank naked all i want..(avoiding wet sleeves)

i love polys so i prefer tanks with a lot of width... LOVE frag tanks....
 
When I built my tank. I could have stayed around the 30" mark. It would have cost me much less, especially for the glass front. Going 40" in height added an extra 60% on the front glass cost alone but every time I look at it, I think to myself "That was worth every $" I also find the taller tank much better when performing water changes. The extra depth means there is a lot more water left when you drain it which places far less stress on the fish themselves.
