indeed, a wall of water effect, as in the displays at public aquariums as has been mentioned.

I don't think i've personally seen one of those on this board - do they exist in home applications?

I will eventually have something like that, watch for it right after you see my user name change to "Lotto Fi$hkeeper":D

anything over 2 feet tall is tall in my books! :)

I think it has to do more with a ratio in conjunction with length. Tanks that have a 25% height to length ratio look longer whereas tanks that are about 30%-33% look balanced and then those above say 40% look tall.

So a 240g 8'x2' looks long, a 180g 6'x2' looks proportional and then a 120g 4'x2' tank looks taller.

When I was buying my tank I knew I wanted the 8'x3' footprint, but I though only going 24" high would make it look "squatty" so end going 30" high since it was still affordable. Would have loved 36" tall but just too pricey for me.

yea that 180 was 36 tall, and i miss the height, cleaning was a pain.

Not likely unless it was 7 foot long and only 14" wide. More likely a 72x18x30".

Tall tanks have to be set up right in order for it too look good. I hate when someone places a tall tank other than a corner in a room.........
