Bull dogs have tons of problems! (just like Sherbear mentioned).
The best Dogs are mixed breeds. Go down to your local shelter and ADOPT an awesome pup. You'll save tons of money! All pure breeds have some kind of problem weather it be physical or mental. The best dogs are mutts.

Why even consider a bull dog when they have so many medical problems as well as not being visually appealing? Not only that, you can't do anything with them at all. Plus they don't live long, compared to other dogs. They are like the obese people of the dog kingdom (sorry if I offended anyone, didn't mean to). I would prefer to have something like a doberman pincer or weimaraner or a husky/malamute. But I guess, as with fish, to each their own.

Talking about dogs, not people. And yes, bulldogs do indeed appear that way in terms of dogs.

Can't run well, Check.

Can't play fetch/ball/etc, check.

Has tons of hip/joint problems, check.

Looks the part (short chunky limbs, big belly, very short or almost nonexistent neck, pudgy face, etc), check.

Has a hard time breathing, check.

Lots and lots of medical problems, check.

Lazy, check.

Messy, check.

As for America having a lot of fat people, I'm far from being one of them, so I could care less about that comment, lol.

I must say that my bullie is in very good shape. Not over weight at all He is very active for being a bulldog but still has his share of problems.
I have a cattle dog mix that I got at 4 week old from the shelter I worked at. 12 years later not on single problem or unexpected vet visit

Obese? All americans? I think maybe you might want to re think that. Typical sterotype that is unecessary

Lol, let's try to stay away from getting into that kind of a fight. The argument is about whether or not he should get that bulldog. Not which country has the most unattractive people or which country is better.

Whatever anyone says isnt going to change what someone wants.
So get what you like.
If you have the money to deal with its genetic faults, and you lile the dog why not?

They're nice dogs.
Lazy and exspensive to care for but nice dogs.
