Turtle source is a little priced because he buys turtles from other breeders, but they're always top notch. I recommend surfing kingsnake for a breeder.

BTW: earlier someone mentioned musk turtles don't bask, this is not true. They do, just not very often, so they still need a basking area. Common Snapping turtles need one as well because they are infrequent baskers.

so hard to find quality turtles these days. but im happy i bought the pink belly side necked turtle today from dempsy12 looks healthy and really active :D
 
Keep looking they always pop up again when you least expect it. Various soft shell species are avalible and are cheep and easy to car for. They are not as active swimmers as FRT but they are still entertaining and rewarding non the less.

No. FRT are a species only purchase


Also, how big is your tank. FRT's need huge tanks, think 8' long by 30" wide, minimum.

If the $150 price of the turtle scared you off, then the cost of the tank is going to terrify you.
 
i think a 6' long should be sufficient for 1 FRT
 
^Yes, but it would have to be very wide then. They do get rather large, and their flippers are pretty wide.
