Gators are illeagal to own in the U.S.

Actually they arn't.
it depends on the individual state.

True, But are snapping turts. leagall here in Arizona and are they easy?

I'm pretty sure they're legal. They had one at my lfs a few weeks ago, but I'm in Virginia. They're pretty tough turtles, I'd still do research though and never put your hand in front of their faces.

Here's a good site;

you are correct. but its not just the state, counties and towns also have their own ordinaces. here in wi for example gators cant be had in milwaukee because of a dangerous animal act. monitors too. if you bounce north one county to ozaukee county then you are free to keep what ever.

Okay everyone, I'm not going to get a gator so just give up on that.:grinno: So lets see, I like turtles and tortoises, but I would prefur something that I can carry around, like some larger lizards.

I once had a Emerald Swift, there really fun, but there scales are sharp and the have a tendancie(?) to climb cutains. One thing I liked about them is they resonded well to being in a hamster ball. After a month or two of biting they usually become friendly enough to be held for long periods of time. Though you might want to wear a glove do to the pointy scales. Also you don't need a huge tank for them, around 20 gallons should do, there relativly low maitainance and it's fun to watch them feed.

Never was a big skink man, Plated I'll think about it, arn't they for more experinced keepers though?, uromastyx mabye, How big do they get?, bearded drag. thats another on my list, ackie monitors never heard of it, but I bet its no harder than any other monitor out their.

Any thing else?

Okaaay... doesn't sound like anything I might be able to "carry around" :screwy:

Thank you Ophiuchus for trying to help me. I really appretiate it you rock:headbang2OOOO I would like something I can bond with, but I love turtles as well... So hard to choose. :nilly: :(
