bump. anybody have any input on this? im thinking of running 216 watts of T5 lighting. overkill? would this put me in the moderate to high lighting category?

I would think if you're trying to have an underwater forest you really can't overkill the lighting.

That will depend on the plants chosen. Some plants do not do well in higher lighting levels, and will cease to grow.

Isnt those plant are called Riccia?

Im planning to use Riccia to cover my new 75G :O and I saw many website, the riccia is look as nice as the pic you posted

Riccia is a floating plant, and you need to keep it tied down in order for it to be a 'carpeting' plant. It will eventually grow so much that the part that is tied down will die off due to no light exposure, and then the plant will float up. It WILL get everywhere in your tank, and will keep showing up whenever you think you've gotten it all out. It's a pest at times, but maintained, will look awesome.

can anyone tell me what are all the plants that where used in this project??
aslo what kind of rocks/stones, gravel on the bottom...thanks:D

The pictures clarity is too poor to make out what the plant is. Considering color, it might be anubias nana petite.

Jose..you need to keep your rocks smaller buddy...they take up too much space, and won't look right. They dwarf the size of your tank.

This is a QUICK photochop, and not a very good one, but shows how getting rid of your huge rocks make tank look bigger, and give it so much more depth.

You should have told me you were setting up a planted tank too man!

I've got some Rasbora Espei's which I REALLY need to get rid of, a school of 30 of them...they'd go nicely in there if you want them...

Remember, stick to odd numbers and the 'golden' rectangle or whatever. Don't center anything, keep it all in thirds or off to the sides of the tank, no center pieces, and randomly plant. Don't want anything too 'uniform'.

Keep up on PTC to get more info on your CO2/ferts/dosing, I can bring you some Minami/Cherry shrimp for your tank too if you want.
