Nps at all mate
and adolf, im not arguing your argument, im arguing with iggies being the handling lizards and occasionally beardies are too.

For the most part, lizards are more handleable than snakes so im disagreeing with your 'lizards aren't really for handling..more to look at'
yes there are exceptions but mehh, that comment about lizards was quite frankly, a bunch of crap.
and im usually one to call out crap ;)
me? im done with the arguing, the whole idea was to help this guy out, and he seemed a little confused by your comments so i came in and forwarded my own. any further arguments about anything with me can be accessed via the pm button on the left. ;)

lol, thats fine I just disagree with most animals being handled. I've seen a to many animals do things they don't normally do. So I personally just disagree with the handling of most animals.

If you had to have a lizard you could hold, like both of us suggested, Bearded dragon, maybe the right iguana (Though i've never met a nice one)

Whats natural about being in a cage Rakie..you can hardly diss handling for not being natural...

I never said its not natural, it has nothing to do with it being natural or not. Im just not in favor of holding most animals, and thats all there is to it.

My Crested Geckos watch TV with me... I am also planing to get a bluey.

However, I can see your point with my Croc Skink.

Edit: Far as lizards being more handable than snakes... there are lot of lizards out there in the hobby that are too fragile to be handled.

I reccomend a Uromasty they are docile and only eat veggies so no running to the store for crikets they are also very active mine runs around the vivarium :).

one of the resons y i want a lizard is to watch it eat live food u dont realy get that from fish so thats y i want a beardie cause ther cool to

we don't have feeders in UK. You can't feed live vertebrates to other animals unless it is absolutely necessary for that animals survival. Think that's about right anyway.

I'd recommend a leopard gecko. They are handleable and easy to care for. They also only need 10-20 gallons of space.

My issue with Bearded Dragons is the massive amounts of food they consume as babies and juveniles, otherwise I think they're great lizards. The lizards I would not recommend to anyone are:

Any sort of Iguana
Any sort of Tegu
Any sort of Monitor

That's not to say that I don't think anyone should own them. I just think that if you have to ask what kind of lizard to get then you simply aren't ready for any of the above. Whatever decide on, please research it for several months and have your habitat up and running and temp/humidity stable long before you get the animal.

And please do not ever make the mistake of assuming that any "beginner" reptile exists.
