A UV light/sterilizer will kill Ich when it is in it's free floating stage. I've never run a UV before, but if you have a stubborn case of Ich, it will help to eliminate it and they can help to prevent outbreaks.
You can add one, but I would just stick with keeping the temp at around 85F and 1 Tablespoon of Salt per 5 gallons of water and you will be fine. I just treated my tank and my loaches had so many spots of ich, they looked white. One week later, it's totally cleared up using high temps and salt.
