I had more fish loss with meds. I haven't ever lost any with salt and heat for 10 days. The meds even ate a hole in my shovel nose catfishes head and burned his whiskers off. He recovered surprisingly u have to watch what u can mix w heat bc as u kno it decreases the oxygen in the water. I have even thrown extra bubblers in my tanks when I raise the heat and it has a 48inch bubble wall full time.

^^^ thats the problem w/ meds, their not designed for scaless fish! And most tanks have both kinds of fish so the meds can quickly take out scaless fish w/ the suggested dose, if scaless use 1/2 the dose

So knock on wood my tig is ick free. My 2 remaining loaches hide to much to tell for them the one is out and I catch a glimpse once and awhile. Lowered the temp to 86 an keeping salt up for 2 wks still. My one loach is still taking it hard and I don't know why. I am doing another water change tomorrow

Whats going on man. Sucks about your loaches. Ever come to any conclusions?

Personally I've seen clowns that looked like they were rolled in sugar. My guess is the few dots of ich are "secondary", and what's killing them is probably something else. They're trying to breath like mad. I'm going with bad water, or if you're a tap water person, some kind of contamination. Did they start struggling after a water change by chance?

If it ever happens again, run a few air stones as you raise the temp and add salt. Later - Nereus
