wow dude, the other fish look great, show qualities.

So 1 for TT and one for lahillas..

And thanks so much, that actually means alot to me, but i do try my very best to take the best care of them, even though i don't have much time on my hands.

Again, thanks a bunch, both of you, for commenting :)

Those are Herichthys Cyanoguttatum. (the true Texas cichlid)
With all respect Balton, sorry that is incorrect but Dominator has nailed it correctly.

It's all good, that's not disrespecting. If I'm wrong I'm wrong but the one on the right really looks like a Cyano imho.

Sorry, and no disrespect, but I think Dominator is incorrect too. The fish on the right is not a lahillas at all. In all actuallity, it looks like a low grade red texas. It lacks the body style of a cyano and the consistent pearling of a carpintis IMO, so thatd be my guess. DEFINITELY not a lahillas though.

Heres my lahillas from April this year. Flash blew out the colors...there is no gold in it at all.

bottom pics are from about 3 yrs ago, about 6 months apart. Same fish in all 4 pics.

i doubt that we will know exactly which variant it is by just looking at it. they do look like carpintis but could also be a hybrid between the cyano and carpintis. where did you get them from, and what were they labeled as?

There's only 2 stores in all of denmark selling uncommon fish, and with Denmark being a very small country, and with very few in the hobby, everyone has either f0 or f1 basically.. hybrids and aquarium strains are much much more rare than wild caught up here, if that makes sense.

Back when i bought them they were labeled as "Texas Cichlid" with the scientific name being cyano, but some of the fish in the tank had clear worming in the face, and different pearling, so you can see why i'm unsure about them.

I'm positive the female is a F1 escondido, but the male has been bugging me since i got him, and i can't seem to get a clear answer. Also i realise camera phone shots aren't at all good for something like this, but it's the best i can do, i'm sorry.

if it was labeled as a cyano, how can you be positive that the female is a "F1" escondido?
