Where did you catch these ?? My wifes from kauai and we're going back and i'd love to catch a few of those..

hey hbluehunter, We caught them in the Wailua Reservoir. It is the only public fishing reservoir on the island. You take a left at the light heading to Wailua falls and just keep on that road for a WHILE then its on your right just before you get to the park.(mapquest it if possible). There are a ton of peacock bass in the lake and for 3 of the 4 days we had the lake to ourselves. There was supposed to be catfish and large mouth too but we only saw talapia and blue gill. I think the catfish and large mouth got phased out by the peacocks but thats just my opinion. I also think there are 2 different kinds of pbass. The few in the pictures and there were some that looked like mono's to me. It was also really cool because at like 10 am each day we were visited by a pair of pbass with their young(prolly 10k of them). The couple would come right up close to shore and it was awesome to see:)

Here are some pics of the parents we saw. They kinda look like Mono's to me but i dont know. They certainly arent the same color as the others we caught. They were pretty too, had a lot of blue on them.
