look up false red terror or mayan cichlid, looks like juvies of them, could be wrong but that wat i see esp. with the spot on the tail.
I've got a urop. in a growout as well. I actually really like the mayans. I've seen mayans of all sizes, these guys don't quite look right.
ALSO - i was mistaken in my first post. The manager told me these three [one got killed] came in a different bag
Maybe I'm completely wrong, which would be awesome.
Someone show me a red devil that looks like this. I know there's a variety with some barring. This is not that.
It's actually highly unlikely that it's really a festae. I'm not worried. I'll have them for certain soon enough. [I'm starting up three new tanks this month. plus a 5gal and 10gal. they don't count though].
The consensus is that it doesn't resemble a red devil, but sure it could be. I don't think so. I'll eat [vegan] crow, happily happily. you can even make a 'darwin is a moron' sign.
the pictures I took was when they were in the bag, after being moved. They've kinda changed a bit. They definitely have red on their ventral side. they definitely have blue spangles. I don't know if I can take a video, I'll try. But I'm taking pictures in a few hours when I turn the lights on.
even if they are red devils, that's cool. I like red devils. Amphis are probably my favorite cichlids.
and she was way off about the size, these fish are closer to 2.5-3 inches.
