awesome longnose. L. osseus happen to be my favorite fish. and im also wondering the same question, did you catch it or did you buy it. i wish my longnose looked that good. and good luck with him.

hey guys sorry it took me so long to get back online. I caught this in the wild and it was caught in michigan. Do you guys know any hotspots in michigan to catch more wild gars.

I know of several very well populated Longnosed lakes and rivers here. Not really comfortable giving this info out online though. If you drop me a PM I can help you out.

I would also be very interested in the location where you got this fish. Myself and a fellow member here E_americanus are currently doing a detailed study of gar in Michigan and yours looks like it's from an area we would like to survey..
 
Like I said, the canals near lake St. Clair are packed with them. Where we used to dock our boat I'd always see them floating around looking like sticks. If anybody is interested I can catch a bunch of these and ship them out next time I go fishing lol (if it's legal)
