Well i finally got off my butt and went threw all my notes in all my books and pulled together all the correct names for my malawi tank stock list ( Im having my job print me up a really nice insert to a display with the stock list)so problem I have 3 that I cant ID- I who i can never get pic off and Im not to worried about that lil guy altho he is one of the best ones to watch but the two below I cant get....

The first one I know I know....Starts with a "P"...LOL but cant remeber and cant find anything with it either, sucky part is I replyed to a post a couple weeks ago about the same mbuna and i had my notes then...now i cant locate....

I got to get these last two....anyhelp be great...

Are you saying yellow on the dorsal fin for the second? Eh I will look at this tomorrow. Sorry but I am just out of it.

And as for the first... well I think I am off since it isn't as pointy as I like... but it is close to a Melanochromis parallelus, ie the "Black and White Auratus". But well it doesn't fit quite right....

Im gonna look again, i so have so much to organize/sucks because before the move I had everything down. In all aspects of everything-Even my mail and my personal paperwork is just everywere-still got boxes of junk and stuff with no homes....LOL

ill keep trying to look- but I know I got it.

The second is one of the only guys I got within the past 3months off of someone, and he was little-at the time he was all blue face with a very dark blue back.At then i thought a female-but he has grown into a yellow, lol Im on a loop with this guy.

Probley a Xbreed, which if anycase-thats fine he is a pleasure, but then he be one of the few that I have who are. And it be nice to get a gerneral ideal of what he could be.

Thing that I should note-is the head is large and longer then the Ahli's-he still is much smaller then the Ahli's but the head is like of a puppies. 2big for his body-and the yellow on the body fades so that it appears to be under the the dark Blue-but on the fins ist a perfict outline and bright( bad Pic)

maybe better to take video?
let me know ill do it tonight

they both are throwing me... 1st Melanochromis of sort, but also the head is a little off. The 2nd is killing me... the blue face does not help I was think sulfer head, but the blue face does not match...def aulonocara

Ok so the first... well I still don't like the head and the stripes don't match well enough. So I will look more on it soon.

Now for the second. If you could can you get a flash shot for me? But well as of now with a lightening of him I see it to be closest to an Sciaenochromis fryeri, specifically the Lumbaulo area. (And yes they do have yellow in there fins though often as they get more mature the yellow disappears.) Check the other photos of juvies to see what I am talking about.

Now the body isn't quite as long as you may see it but well I have younger guys that have the same body form, so who knows.

(PS I lightened the photo so does he look like this?)

Ok so the blue guy... ugh you are tallented. I still see hap more than anything... (That head is so dang pointy.) Just ugh is all I can say (ie having a hard time with him). I would still lean towards a Sciaenochromis fryeri, but well it looks like there is too much yellown in the body even now. I say give it more time, maybe there is someone out there knows but heck it looks like he is just starting to get some of his color, so who knows give him a few more months...

As for the mbuna... It isn't Melanochromis parallelus at all anymore. I am tired again but well I will take a look and see what I can figure out.

Thank god, i dont feel so stupid now...i really cant figure out the Malawi blue either...And i knew it too. when i got him he be different...LOL, but the guy was closing the store and i went in and got like almost everything he had left. out of all my fish there are 5 that i didnt order or get from a creditable source...he happens to be one and he was in a tank all by himself at 1.5"- i remeber the guy said he was a malawi blue cichlid and i thought to myself..."LOL thats y you going out of business, I know more then you..."

But i took him cause he was going to be flushed...and he was dark back blue face all the way intill Nov then he started this yellow thing and now has me lost and determined...i went threw every website i could find.....for a week now,

so thanks alot ikevi, thanks for the try maybe your right-lets watch him and see who he is...might be going threw adult coloring-

I got to ask what you mean
Ugh you tallented?

LOL
