Yep yep... and I just finished looking at ever mbuna I know... and some I didn't

So the only stripes that are vertical that have the semi odd head... I am guessing some sort of tropheops... They do come in black and whitish http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=963

MWHAHAHAHA I think I have it even better... This was the most I have ever looked for a fish... hm.. what does that say about me doing on a friday night... Need to get out more I guess.

Look at some tropheops olive... So close... Ok I am stopping on this guy now.

The first is a typical M. johannii type hybrid. A jumble of M. johanii, M. interruptus, M. cynoerhabdos and possibly even certain P. elongatus types.

The second, I can't really say for sure. It has some Aulonocara qualities about it but also resembles S. fryeri or O. lithobates some. Could be a hybrid as well.

So I wont say that it is or isn't a hybrid, but have you ever seen a hybrid mix of any of those fish that were black and white?

i know it is not olive green. I have 6 upstairs and do not look as he describe the coloring. They are grayish with black until they get a green yellow... never blue...

Wait are you telling me there is an Tropheops olive green? Anyways I don't know what it is. I just got as close as I could without calling hybrid. (I still am trying to think what would keep just those colors. Eh who knows.) Ok my mouse died I am out for now.

LOL...2Funny but thats the truth, im in the same boat ovr here, problem is-posting it for outside help was last-I really been trying to get them two for a week....

the Tropheops sp. "Lucerna Fin Spot" looks really close because of the color but the head is more round then that...i wonder if it could be a FemaleMelanochromis of some kind....note the strips (light light light blue) across the face, right above the head....i ll figure it i got to...but another night...i was going to load pics and post but again another nigt lost on a fish search...LOL

the second could be very well a mixm but i really dont think so...and if it was- it be a stright Cross...not a Hybred of multiple spc.

the Hap Sciae look alike- i agree with IKevi on that one- he has change so much as far as color just in 2months- I reall dont think he is a Hy either again I could settle with a cross, Sciae and something else maybe a psammophilas-

But I dont go for alot of mix tanks and as i said i have been really strick about who what and were i get my fish from....i do have mix tanks, but not this Tank....
i will get this....I know the lil guy, I have seen then before...

either way we are all up to late with no excitement....
Ill have to keep looking into this, and go from there....
Thanks everyone you guys are the best

Ok I get what you are saying. I just didn't know if you were saying there was another subspecies called olive green. And yah I knew that some were that color but well I was resorting to google searches... Ok I am about dead (tired that is).

OH and BlackTopKing nice avatar there, or I should say awesome shot.
