ID me!

It is a hybrid of some sort for sure. Part Green Sunfish no doubt, but not sure what else.

This fish was ID'd as a Long ear sunfish by Professor Gibbons at Birmingham Sate College. If his ID is right, the fish in question here, could also be a long ear. The lack of orange edging on the fins is probably important. I am stumped.

It is a hybrid sunfish, it would be hard to prove without any doubt what its parents were without a DNA check.

no doubt in my mind that is a straight up green sunfish, i catch them all the time and they look exactly like that one, and if you keep them well fed and happy they will show even better colors than that in an aquarium
