The Natives:
Five-Lined Skink
Coal Skink
Broad Headed Skink
Eastern Fence Lizard

Ever find any of them? When I was in CT our only native was the five-lined skink and I don't think one had been collected officially for 50 years or so. That was always my "dream herp". Now I'm down here, lizards everywhere :) But not monitors like Onion :(

looks def like an ally lizard, they can be very aggressive, i had one bite me threw a leather glove once and wouldnt let go

I've seen plenty of Five-Lined Skinks up in the mountains but I've never found the other 3 species of lizards. I hear that the Coal and Broad Headed are hard to find because they live in isolated areas. There's good habitat for Fence Lizards around where I live but I've never seen any. I'd like to get a couple dozen and let them go to repopulate the area around my house.

Ive taught all over the bay, from South SF, SF to the East bay!

i suspect it's a southern alligator lizard, the way to tell is look at their eyes, the southerns are a golden yellow while northerns are greenish brown. southerns are my favorite california native lizards, they'r awesome pets once they calm down a little bit.
