How many people posting in this thread have had articles about certain "texas" cichlids (carpintis) published in THF? Oh yeah, Acestro. ;)

You can honestly say that your carpintis looks more like the op's fish than the cyano pictures I posted? The only similarity I see with yours are the sizes of the spots.. I'm interested in seeing pictures of your fish with different lighting too..

And also with the green and blue texas names; I see a lot of those colors in the op's fish........
definitely, yes i think he looks like the OPs fish. are you looking at color alone? because i dont see the resemblance to what you posted. im looking at size/pattern spots, as well as the markings on the face.

and the green, blue, turquoise etc etc labels, i dont even bother. they just cause more confusion. ill see if i can dig up more pics of the same fish

here's a bunch of pics of the same fish. i still dont this this fish looks like the cyanos you posted

I retract my statement on saying it is 100% cyano, cause I nor you know exactly what it is.. I see the difference in spot sizes, but I think his fish looks way more cyano than carpintis.

Here is one more of the original fish I posted, and his mate a convict. They are raising babys at the moment as feeders for my Jaguar. If you look closely at the bottom of the pic you can see some of their free swimming fry. The most of their fry at that moment was underneath the undergravel filter plate.
That convict is the only fish that Texan has allowed to live in the tank with him besides a pleco.
