Again it has no red and it has a flowerline, what makes you say it is not a Trimac x Texas?

Green Texas aren't really green doesn't change the fact of what it is. You can think what you want but that doesn't make it so. I honestly doubt that is the result of breeding pure trimac with carpintis, as it would look different. I do see a flowerline and its low quality hence no red. But then again its not like I know what I'm talking about.

I could be wrong about it being RT but I honestly doubt its what you think it is.

FYI, Red Texas don't have to be red... they are supposed to, but only a few of them actually get the color, the rest are considered low quality and are culled or sold for a few cents to whoever wants them. Just like breeding Flowerhorn not all of them will be show quality, most are average looking and go straight to the toilet or are used as feeders. Since you didn't get that fish from a reputable breeder you will never be able to determine where it came from, I doubt it has any Trimac in it and even if it does you will just have to assume it's either a low quality red texas or low quality flowerhorn, either way it isn't worth much.

So you think my fish is toilet worthy and not worth the 3 pound 95 pence that i paid for it?

I never thought or debated on its value, i just wanted to know what you guys thought it was, i just thought it was a cheap pretty fish and the lfs guy told me it was a texas that came from a tank that had texas and trimacs, not blood parrots and flowerhorns, but again i said i have never seen a trimac in real life here in England.

Well when someone says "Its a Red Texas" and you say "No its not because its not red" you have to explain how its low quality therefor not Red. If you like the fish great because thats all that matters.

i agree with calihawk and chrisplosion. as far as for why it wouldnt be a trimac x texas, well you said it yourself, he doesen't have the flower/black spot on his head and below his eye that Trimacs and FHs have. that would more then likely be present if it had trimac in it. i have a red texas that was bred accidently fom a fellow mfk member that also has a flowerline and looks very similar to your fish except less pearly right now.

you also stated there was red in the dorsal fin. sounds like a RT to me. mine also have the red in the dorsal fin. regardless, it is a nice fish.
