I went searching for a Blue Acara today (never kept one before) and i was sold this dude as a 'blue point flag acara' lol

Now is this just me or is that a mix of a load of names of 2 dif fish? lol

I understand that Blue Acaras are a Firemouth sized fish...gettign to around 8" max wheras Flag Point Acaras are a different fish altogether and only get to between 2"-4" so i wanted to know for stockign reasons mainly :P

Heres some pics of the little dude (not very good ones)

I know that lol! i was wondering which type!

I told the shop that they were BA's and they laughed at me lol!

Someone said on another forum that it is a 100% Green Terror/Blue Acara hybrid....

....Now i'm worried :S

It looks a bit like Andinoacara latifrons ... one of the blue acaras, but one with silver dorsal edging instead of the gold of the normal blue acara (A. pulcher) ... at least in the pics you posted the dorsal lining appears silver.

Yes it is^ and his body is more metallic green than blue and his lightning bolts on the face are greeny blue

who knows, it could be . . . but it sure looks like a blue acara to me. I mean, sure, BAs and GTs look a lot alike, especially as juvies, but it is possible to tell the difference, especially when you've seen a lot of 'em . . .

there is a lot of concern about hybrids getting into the industry, and rightly so, but I don't see any reason to think this is one
