are these the only payara that do back flips? In 2006 I bought three "vampire tetras" from aquascape and they all hit there food doing back flips. It was great to watch. They would line themselves up underneath the fish and then nail it.

Correct, these are the backflip fish.

My tat and scomb do backflips depending on how hungry and where the food lands. I've always seen em do it but never really thought anything of it.

I agree Rob. They seem least likely to freak out and bash against rocks or jump out.
