Looks like some kind of synodontis. They usually stay under a foot. That one is likely full grown.

Generally they will only do it if they have been fed an extremely poor diet and are on their deathbed. Its like a desperate last resort fish thing.

lol. No, synos are not plecos.. they arent suckerfish and will not suck off a slimecoat. Also it is probably going to get bigger. 8-10" is typical. great fish
