Those were the traits before ban was lifted , Now a days belly spotting no one looks for and wild rays all have yellow spots when imported.

Those were traits set for captive bred and sold BD rays.

Honest question.... If the traits have changed based off of the ban being lifted.... how do you classify a BD from a regular leo? I have heard they are all being pulled from a certain river. Thats all good and all but how does the average joe know a BD from a regular Leo. Just taking the words of someone selling it? I know Vaptrev has a really nice leo that he purchased from you as a CB leo, IMO looks better than some of the BDs that have been sold.

hmm..
i thought the term black diamond was reserved for the best of the best.
thats a nice leo but i wouldnt personally label it as high enough quality to be called black diamond.my opinion only..i am NO expert.:)

There are high quality BD coming from Sao Felix river and there are lower quality BD that are coming from there also, just like anything else some are much better then others. It all depends on what customer whats to spend if you had 4000+ to blow on a ray you will get a much higher quality animal then if you only had 2000 and buy something leftover.

I dont care about any of old traits that were established all I want is nice ray with three rows of spots, outer row can be full or partial but that is all I care about. Eyes, base color and belly spotting I never even consider.

It was reserved for the BEST OF THE BEST before the ban was lifted, but now that you can get these rays every exporter calls them BD's so those days are gone. There all BD now coming from Sao Felix just some much better then others, also alot are thrown back that are not good enough to sell.
