ID please! Maybe a Dovi/Cuban

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
im going home for the weekend and ill use a real camera to take some pics and put up for you guys, but there is about a dozen of rosies and guppies in there and he won't even bother them, as a matter of fact the feeder guppies breed with him in there, but i tried to put a female dovi and a female mag in there with him seperately but he killed the mag and beat up the dovi pretty bad. He is pretty aggressive towards me as well, if i put my hand above the tank he will try to jump out to get it. He is a little meanie

Why not definitely a cuban?!... Are they genetically incapable of breeding?
The reason I ask is, I find the spanglings on the face and gills more like a cuban's rather than like a carpintis or a jag's.
Also cuban's being quite nasty themselves, the resulting fry between a dovii and a cuban would be as mean as the OP claims.

I hope someone would clarify me on this. But nonetheless the fish looks awesome! Some more pics wouldn't do any harm! :D

Thats why i was leaning towards a cuban as well his markings that go down his body have the same pattern as a cuban, but he has the shape and colors of a dovi
