+1 and the bar doesn't come to a point. It's too Indefinable to be called a true ST imo

Find me a dozen of this so called IT, I'd be happy to buy them off your hand for $200ish each! :D

Then I will ask my transhipper friend to send them back to Singapore and make 8 times as much, oops, I said my plan out loud, >..<"

How's this a st? Won't the last tail strip give it away?

Here we go...

1) high forehead

Because of the fish is pictured in a slanted angle, it appeared to have none

2) the bar is broken, you will see this feature in most D.pulcher, unlike IT, most of them will have a full band

3) the infamous knife bar, it sway all the backward to the anal

4) the top notch is smooth downward and it's not bludging out like an IT

5) the lower portion extent outward, another key feature you will see in all large D.pulcher. IT will have the bar going straight down to the anal fin (also in some cases, some pulcher will have the straight down bar too)

6) classic ST tail

:)

That's a really nice chart you've come up with Fishes...like "Telling an ST from an IT for Dummies" lol.

....not that I'm calling anyone a dummy, just a play on the book titles.

Need some background info on the fish. Owner location, size of fish and where/who was uy bought from. If its a ST congrats but i would rather have widebar ST to a thin bar one. Could it be one of the CT that were imported last year

Ive never seen a 3 bar Indo with the middle bar sweeping back at such an angle.

It can't be a CT, because of the V tail jointed bar.

Furthermore, the characteristic of a CT is on the 4th bar, most of them the bar will go straight down and it won't lean forward.

Also a CT and a ST still have the same scientific name (D.Pulcher).

In the Asian community, a CT is just a lower grade / version of a ST because of the IT shaped tail similarity which people dislike.

In conclusion, if a fish have the following traits will be called a ST

1) 4th bar smooth down or just straight down without the optic illusion of bludging out + bar lean forward to the anal fin
2) V shaped tail or Classic 2 bars tail

a CT would be...

1) 4th bar smooth down (looks as if it was bludging out) and it will go straight down to the anal fin without leaning forward
2) IT shaped tail or IT shaped tail with the middle bar not going all the way (1/2 to 3/4 of the bar)

Confusing???

Yes it is! :D
