Id please, st or it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
100% ST. Unfortunately there are so few out there that people that are newer to dats don't have anything to base the subtle differences off of. It looks very much like one of the 10 that I used to have.

I will call it an IT if it means I can buy it for a nice IT price!

My real answer to your question is though it has most of the characteristics defining an ST on the side that was shown to the point that I will pay ST money for. Call it an ST.

Looks like a ST to me. A picture of the other side is needed to get rid of out any doubts.

Please Id
Nice 3-bar indo

if the other side is different, then it will be a 4 bars ST, more rare! :) And I am not BSing, there's 4 bars ST out there! :)

Even the ST in my avatar (I regret of selling it) is a 3 and a half bar ST at the other side :) (confirmed by stone Aq) xD
The one in your avatar, judging from that picture, also looked like a nice 3-bar indo

Let's take lymiq's 17" ST for comparsion

match the number... don't they look similar?

:naughty:
You need to have your eyes examed!

It can't be a CT, because of the V tail jointed bar.

Furthermore, the characteristic of a CT is on the 4th bar, most of them the bar will go straight down and it won't lean forward.

Also a CT and a ST still have the same scientific name (D.Pulcher).

In the Asian community, a CT is just a lower grade / version of a ST because of the IT shaped tail similarity which people dislike.

In conclusion, if a fish have the following traits will be called a ST

1) 4th bar smooth down or just straight down without the optic illusion of bludging out + bar lean forward to the anal fin
2) V shaped tail or Classic 2 bars tail

a CT would be...

1) 4th bar smooth down (looks as if it was bludging out) and it will go straight down to the anal fin without leaning forward
2) IT shaped tail or IT shaped tail with the middle bar not going all the way (1/2 to 3/4 of the bar)

Confusing???

Yes it is! :D

"In the Asian community, a CT is just a lower grade / version of a ST because of the IT shaped tail similarity which people dislike." Really? What is a CT? Is it a Cambodia tiger, or is it a controversial tiger?

I see pulcher and possibly 1 or 2 IT traits. Not a true ST from the Chao Phraya imo..but certainly a sweet looking tiger with more pulcher traits going it's way imo..Most importantly strong pulcher gold & bodyshape! Head slope and overall facial profile tough to say from pic. Have heard rumors that a "CT" might have blood from both of them or could be just it's own confusing specie. I think it some sort of pulcher that I wouldn't pay ST money for, but would be willing to pay considerably more than indo $. I'll leave it at that

*Looked like* but not Indo, do you have any evidences to prove it is an Indo? If you do, please comment here, and "PLEASE" don't hide again! Then my friends will have legal issue with Stone's Aquarium if in fact you can prove that Cambodia Tiger or lookalike CT is an Indo.

My eyes are perfectly fine!

A Cambodia Tiger, but it still has the scientific name as D.pulcher.

Go to Stone's aquarium (ask the experts there), go Singapore, go Thailand, go Cambodia, and talk with the people that keep these fish and you will know your believes were wrong! :) Been there, done that! :)
