As you can see it has some size, about 12inches at 2 years old and very thick in the body. Sorry about the pic quality but it is with my phone.

It's quite possible, though I'd doubt the Government could be bothered about it given I believe they were stupid enough to introduce them into some local systems to eat Mosquitos.. which our natives do more effectively anyway.

I know some people are catching them in the Brisbane River.
 
Wow, that looks like one of the Paratilapia or Paretropheus species. Like perhaps menarambo? Except, a hybrid? Very interesting. Moving this to Mikes section to see if he can help! :)

He owns an aquarium store and the DPI frequent his place so we get a little jumpy about fish on the noxious list.
