So I couldn't help but pick this little monster up. I had passed him more than a few times, each time thinking how cool he looked. Finally I broke down and bought him. The question now is, what is he?

Any help IDing this fish would be much obliged...

He (or she) is pretty brave for its size and a good eater. I can't wait to find out what he is...

No way. A Texas is a Texas - Cyano. A Carpintis is not a cyano, but labeled as a "Texas" for easy reference. Then it just goes from there... I say whack cause these threads pop up about every week, with everyone claiming to know what it is; when in all reality nobody is really 100%, and it seems to turn into a headbutting battle. A quick search will show you what I'm talking about.
 
Carpintis. Exactly what mine looked like a couple months ago.
