I would say carpintes likely the common lahillas. Could be a cross but hard to tell at that size or any size. He will grow very fast mine went from 2.5" to 10" in less than a year
 
yes it is a Carpintis i catch them all the time in my local river here is a pic of one i caught about three weeks ago sorry crappy pics he wouldnt sit still lol

This is why these threads go nowhere, because people catch Carpintis in local texas rivers............
 
are u saying mine is a Cyano? if so im sorry i was told i had a carpintis and that was what i could catch here locally i could have been misinformed
 
well carpintis are from mexico if i'm not mistaken so i'm going to go with cyano on the second fish posted. as for the og poster i'm also going to say cyano, the fact that it has 'lines' of spots makes me think that, a side from the fact that the pearls are small.
