it looks nothing like a dempsey. whats wrong with you people, every single JD hybrid ive ever seen displayed lots of JD traits. this has absolutely ZERO traits of a JD.
the fins, and body are reminiscent of a convict, especially the pattern, it just looks like a convict firemouth hybrid.

If you see JD in there you must be seeing icelandic heritage in Wesley Snipes also

whats wrong with us? whats wrong with you? how many convict firemouth hybrids grow to 8 inches long? neither fish does so explain that for everyone. at least when they were suggesting jd its a fish that attains the length of the fish in question.

have you seen the fish next to a ruler? no, so its just hearsay how large it is, Ive seen some huge male convicts and the fish lacks absolutely any JD traits, why dont we just go ahead and call it a midas jag hybrid just because we can?

If you don't like our guesses then state your own and leave it at that. You don't have to throw a fit because you don't think there's Jack Dempsey in it. It's (likely) a hybrid anyway, so there's no way you will know 100% what's in it.

And seriously, how do you really even care that much to toss around insults about this? It's just sad.

I agree.

Wow, you never agree

If it is a hybrid, its not a Flowerhorn. Its a bit insulting to call regular hybrids FH's because they took a lot of line breeding/luck to create.

LOL, thanx Water...its not the same anymore because your "overly critical" comments were always softened with a certain softened Avatar.

I think you'll find I was messing around, thats why there was a joke at the end. so all of what you just said has now became irrelevant. doesnt matter what people think it is, not like we can get its DNA tested and be certain what it is.

problem with the internet is people basically get into arguments because people take stuff the wrong way because we can't all know the intention behind the words.

hes looking much better now! hes definately an interesting looking fish, I wouldve brought him even if he wasn't cheap. I think I'm beginning to agree with someone on the last page who suggested it has texas in it....

that is a firemouth. Pic isn't giving good ref to size, my fm is much lighter but the same blue spots in his fins. i think a couple o days in the new place will do him good. makw sure you feed him some live or frozen bloodworms it will help alot with his color, good lighting aswell. Good luck with your new roomate!
