I agree.
I had a breeding pair some years ago, the female would fit 50-60 young in her mouth when the fry were almost 2".
When startled they can dive into the sand substrate and disappear.
At 2" the fry would act as cleaner fish for my Etroplus suratensis. The chromides would seem to stand on their tails inviting the Fosso to clean their flanks.
Fascinating fish, that need a very large tank at maturity ( I could only keep 2 in a 150 gal, when the male hit 14"), and are very strong, long distance jumpers. I had to keep bricks on the glass tops to keep the Fossos from dislodging them, and shooting across the room.
