I'm 100% sure its a s. rhombeus, its not a spilopleuro, its not any of the other.
They are usually darker colored when larger too, looking more like a black piranha. As far as growing an inch a year, its average. They're not terribly fast groweres. Beautiful specimens. Most of these in captivity will stop growing around 10-12" range, I've yet to see someone raise a serrasalmus past 12" in captivity. But from the wild, they come that size pretty frequently, must be something in the water or diet, or both.
