Doesn't help much at all. I'm leaning torwards S. Altuvie (due to the lack of spotting below the lateral line) or S. Rhombeus. The Rhombeus family is so diverse based on geographical collection point, having one rhomb that doesn't look like your others is not that uncommon. A collection point would be very helpful (especially since Altuvies are only native to Venezuala). Without the full flank shot, I can't be any more certain than that.
 
Absdolutly Rhom of some sort. That is one AWESOME F_ _ _ in fish i'v seen those listed as Gold Rhoms before Pretty rare however so hold onto him he is one cool piranha.
 
i still think it might be a compressus. dont they still get mixed up with rhoms sometimes? but then in the newer picture you cant see the vertical bars as much...

so most likely a rhom. but i dont think it looks like a xingu

i was going to add that most xingus ive seen have a more pronounced lower jaw...sticks out a bit more.
