Looking at book from library = AQUARIUMS, The Complete Guide to Freshwater and Saltwater Aquariums.2005 = page 141, Exactly like picture, VENUSTUS Nimbochromis venustus, size 8", Lake Malawi.:D
 
Livingstonii looks like the mouth ends are more down-turned I think ! ? And their color pattern's a bit different too.
 
It is difficult to tell when stressed in a bag, does it have dots all over it now that it is no longer stressed in the bag? If so it is a Nimbochromis polystigma. If it is not got a lot of dots on it then I would say it is Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus. The coloration of the pattern is not right for a venustus. They are more of green camo. Livingstonii as pictured above is more silver. The two I listed above get more of brown to them like yours. It is for a fact Nimbochromis.

Brown spots go long ways on the livingstoni.. look again.. otherwise they do look alike:D
