one of my dads friends brought these over for me. i asked if he could catch me some baby bluegill but when he went fishing he could only catch these big ones. i think im going to return them because they are a little bit too big...just wondering what kind they are?

the second to the last picture? i catch them all the time!

From what is that i know, blue gills do breed cross breed alot.

it looks like a crappie./blue gill mix.(but i wouldn't doubt it if it was true, nor i would ever be suprised.)

what are theY? i never seen them on the bourchers of the fish types that ar in the lakes?

i see a reguler blue gill mixed with what could be a yellow sunfish. Panfish cross breed in lakes, so you can rearaly ever get a "purebred wild bluegill"

Just out of curiosity, what is a yellow sunfish???

What you've never seen a yellow sunfish? How do you think they get GREEN sunfish? They cross a BLUEgill with a YELLOW sunfish, and voila!

It looks like a bluegill. It is not a cross between a gillXcrappie. I have a hybrid gill/green sunfish. That gill looks nothing like it. Check the mouth, it will be bigger than a normal gill if it crossed.
